Rescue Me! Adopt – Don’t Shop!

I’m so excited. I’m doing photo shoots for Story County Animal Shelter  to gain more publicity for the dogs that are ready for adoption. Please consider saving a life by adopting your next furry, family member. If these dogs don’t tug at your heart strings, then look at more of the dogs or cats on their website http://www.storycountyiowa.gov/animal  Can’t find one? Then check out a shelter near you. Remember, please adopt – don’t shop!

Look at these two lovable dogs that are ready and eager to be your next companion!

This is Hawkins. Hawkins is a healthy, happy, active Lab/Swiss mountain dog mix. What a beautiful dog he is!

1

He is 4 years old and great with people and kids. It is probably best that he be with kids 12 or older as he is a big dog (90 pounds) and could accidentally knock a young child over.

5

He is a huge lover and likes cuddling up next to his human buddy. He will sit beside you and lean into you saying, “I really love you!” in dog language. Just look at that doggie grin!

3

He would make a fantastic running buddy or a companion for long walks. He’d even be great at playing soccer! He is very attentive and interested in all that is going on.

4

He knows a few commands and seems to be an eager student. He’s not a fan of cats and is good with some dogs, but not all. Hawkins was raised from birth by his former owner. There were no problems; the owner just decided after Hawkins turned 4 that he didn’t have enough time for more than one dog. Please be Hawkins’ hero and bring him into your forever home. He desperately wants a running or walking buddy. He’s a winner!

Our next dog is Delta. Delta is a healthy, lovable Beagle/Fox Hound Mix.

4

She is very sweet, quiet, and a real cuddler, once she gets to know you.

3

She has had some kind of experience that makes her a little leery, especially of men, when she first meets you. Given time, she will be your faithful, loyal companion.

6

Delta definitely has a lot of love to give. She is OK with kids, but as always, she is a bigger dog and could knock over a toddler. Older children are recommended. Delta would love to go on a stroll with you

1

or perhaps learn how to track a scent!

5

Do you have the patience and kindness to help Delta with her shyness? If you do, she will be your loving, loyal friend for life.
