Do you celebrate your dog’s birthday? We do. They’re really important members of our family so we couldn’t skip this celebration of their lives. Of our three dogs, two had birthdays in May. Heidi, our rescued puppy-mill Shih Tzu, turned 7 on May 4th and Charlie, our rescued Golden Retriever, turned 10 on May 29th. We will be celebrating Abby, our American Cocker Spaniel on August 3rd.

Snow Day for the Dogs
Abby is a chocolate American Cocker Spaniel who is badly in need of a trim right now. She is the bossy girl of the bunch. Her favorite toy in the whole world is a squeaky tennis ball.
Heidi is a Shih Tzu and was a rescue from a horrible puppy mill. She is the sweetest little girl in the world who has gradually learned to trust. She tends to be a bit of a diva in the snow. It’s cold! The snow sticks to her fur and makes her wet! And the worst part, if it is very deep, she gets stuck with her short little legs and has to be rescued!
Charlie is part Golden Retriever. She is a real lover who wouldn’t hurt a fly. She is also a rescue. Even though she is a senior, she is very smart, playful, and LOVES the snow.
The following is child’s dog’s play.

We started off visiting with the dancing mallard ducks watching them maintain a steady stream of quacking conversation and then continued around the winding path.We stopped to soak in the beauty of a few on the wildflowers before Charlie’s first of three chances to swim.
